Joel Freeman’s passion for helping people reach their fitness potential began at Texas Tech University, where he worked in a local gym and discovered his true motivation: making a meaningful impact on people’s lives and showing that positive change doesn’t have to be difficult or unrealistic.

 

After moving to Olympia, Washington in 2004, Joel taught group fitness classes, helped grow participation to some of the highest levels in the country, managed a local gym, and later worked with the Washington State Department of Health to help establish a corporate wellness program. In 2005, he began his relationship with BODi (formerly Beachbody) as part of the elite trainer team for LES MILLS PUMP.

 

In 2012, Joel relocated to Southern California to become Group Exercise Director for Gold’s Gym SoCal, where he transformed the group fitness experience across one of the most successful Gold’s Gym franchises in the world through innovative programming, top-tier instructors, and data-driven performance tracking.

 

Joel joined BODi as an exclusive Super Trainer in 2016 and has since created many of the company’s most successful programs, including CORE DE FORCE (2017), LIIFT4 (2018), 10 ROUNDS, LIIFT MORE (2022), 25 Minute Speed Train (2025), and 10 MINUTE SPEED TRAIN (2026). His programs have collectively generated hundreds of millions of workout streams and helped thousands of people worldwide build strength, lose weight, and gain confidence.

 

When he’s not training, Joel is busy with a full house with his  wife, three children, and three cats. He also loves home projects, golfing, dirt biking, and just about anything that involves a little adrenaline. You can follow Joel @joelfreemanfitness on Instagram and Facebook.
